My Tiny Resolution List
Around this time of year, it seems that everyone is posting on FB or their blogs about what their resolutions are for the upcoming year. As a busy SLP and new wife, I just don't see making huge, unrealistic resolutions as possible or practical this year. Sometimes it's the smallest things that can make the biggest difference. So, this coming year, 2016 - it's about the little things.
I resolve to:
Not pout for quite as long after I ruin dinner
Remember to LOOK UP - and not down at my phone quite so often.
Lastly, when in doubt, follow these rules written on my pillow.
How about all of you? Any resolutions/non-resolutions that you plan on making? Click on this link to check out how other SLPs are planning on making their lives better and easier in the year 2016! www.allyallneed.com
Hope you all have a wonderful and happy new year!

Christmas for an SLP
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I cannot believe that it is almost time to put away the window clings, nativity, Christmas tree, and train set. It feels like we prepare for Christmas for the entire month before it, and then in a blink of an eye it's over. This year's theme of presents was definitely SLP related. I love making crafts for activities and also pretending to be organized, so I thought I would share a few of my SLP gifts with you, in case there are others like me out there! Consider adding these items onto your Amazon wish lists!
Vera Bradley Notebook and ball point pen!
I don't enjoy taking notes, however, I am planning on attending the TeachersPayTeachers conference this July in ORLANDO!!! and will not be brining my computer with me. Although I type much faster than I write, I don't want to lug it around from room to room. So, I thought a beautiful and matching notebook/pen set would do the trick!
Velcro!!
Okay, this was a stocking stuffer, but I feel it is important to include in this blog for one specific reason. If you have never purchase velcro before, please note you must make sure to purchase both sides!! The first time I ever purchased velcro, I accidentally only got the soft fuzzy side and not the side that sticks to it. Talk about disappointment! Thankfully Amazon Prime came through for me, and I was back to velcro-ing up a storm two days later :)
An SLP mug!
This was a lovely surprise gift from my awesome supervisor. I love the colors on it - super motivating in the morning when full of a nice hot cup of hot cocoa (I somehow managed to get through grad school without acquiring a taste for coffee).
A motivational Mickey statue
I'm totally counting this as an SLP gift. We could all use a little Disney magic and motivation during those challenging moments of the day! I found a nice spot on my desk for it :)
I saved the best for last! A binding machine!
I recently started creating interactive vocabulary books on TpT (TeachersPayTeachers) and did not want to use my school's binding machine. I knew that I wanted one, so I check out Amazon for reviews and thought I had picked one out. On black Friday though, I wandered into Michaels with my husband and a 50% off coupon, and impulsively asked a store clerk if they carried any binding machines. My luck! They had one last machine in stock and it was on sale! My husband scored this beauty for $64 before tax!
What did all you SLPs receive for the holidays? Can't wait to see!

Welcome! My name is Lauren DiBiase, and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist currently working with pre-school age students all the way up to high-school age students at a NY school for the deaf! This is my fourth year working in the school setting, second year providing home-care services, and second year creating and sharing my own home-made speech and language materials on TeachersPayTeachers! I am excited to be taking the plunge and creating a blog to help connect with other SLPs all over the world.
A few fun facts about myself:
I live on Long Island with my husband.
I enjoy crocheting in my free time.
I am proficient in American Sign Language and use it on a daily basis at my job.
HGTV is usually on in my apartment.
One day I want a female dog named either: Gus, Cooper, or Elmer.
I love Disney World and want to be a cast member when I retire!
The goal of my blog is to share some fun daily speech shenanigans with you, share some strategies that I have discovered are successful in therapy sessions, and to spread some peace, productivity, and most importantly: humor, from my speech room to yours.
If you would like to follow me on social media, you can check me out on: TeachersPayTeachers, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest!
Looking forward to the blogging experience and sharing it with all of you!
